Before I start with a “blog” or a “post” or whatever else you want to call it, let me give you an insight on the real me, the “real deal”, the real “Ra-Ra-Ra-Rachel” etc.
Obviously, my name is Rachel, I’m a 21 year old Junior English major at Lamar
University. All of this can be found on that “meet our bloggers” page…this is where it gets good… First off, I love to read. ((Yeah, that’s part of that “get to know us” page as well)) But when I say that I like to read, I mean seriously…I LOVE to read. While most people resolved to crazy feats and impossibilities during the New Year…I resolved to read 52 books this year. Thankfully, I’m right on schedule (for the most part anyway) and it’s going quite well so far.
Look, I’ll show you!
Books I’ve read so far this year:
1) Vanishing Acts – Jodi Picoult
2) Salem Falls – Jodi Picoult
3) Up from Slavery – Booker T. Washington4) Love, Rosie – Cecelia Ahern
5) Second Glance – Jodi Picoult
6) The Bell Jar – Sylvia Plath
7) I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell – Tucker Max
8) Picture Perfect – Jodi Picoult
9) Memoirs of Geisha – Arthur Golden
10) Pledged – Secret lives of Sorority Sisters – Alexandra Robbins
11) Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone – J.K. Rowling
12) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets – J.K. Rowling
13) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban –J.K. Rowling
14) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire –J.K. Rowling
15) Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince –J.K. Rowling
16) Left Behind – Tim Lehaye & Jerry B. Jenkins
17) Bringing Down the House – Ben Mezrich
18) The Da Vinci Code – Dan Brown
19) Tribulation Force – Tim Lehaye & Jerry B. Jenkins …And counting. Right now I’m in the middle of another Jodi Picoult book, she’s an AMAZING writer and keeps you very interested in the story all the way to the last page.
Back to the rest of me…
Besides reading, I am far to busy for the most part to watch television shows so instead I love buying them on DVD and watching them one right after the other without commercial breaks. One day I’ll get a DVR box but until then, this is how it has to be. These serve as great birthday presents (btw) and my birthday is on October 1st. ((Write that down))
Personally…
I live with my Grandfather, who adopted me at a young age and who is the greatest grandfather/father in the world. No one can beat him, so don’t even pretend like you have someone better than him. I am in love ((that’s right I said the L word)) with an amazing man whom we will call “A” (initials to protect the guilty…at all times) who treats me with incredible respect, who loves me with all of his heart, and who puts up with my antics, my bossiness, and my crazy emotions with the patience of a saint. I cuddle with an adorable dog every night before I go to bed, she’s a brindle
Chihuahua who has a fascination for roast, and hates normal dog food. Besides “A” keeping me inline, I also have my best friend "J"to do a little of the work. Let’s just say that this girl is AMAZING, she is a beautiful woman with ambition and goals that surpass anyone else I know, she is in love with Christ and lives her life on the path of God at all times. She’s going to
Washington for the summer for an internship which means that I’ll be frantic and lonely with out her this summer. ((Insert sad face here)) There are other people in my life, which surely you will all get to know in pictures and other thoughts that I tend to have but this will go ahead and sum things up for now. ((As if you were bored…))
I work at the post office, in the encoding center which is pretty freaking awesome. I get paid a lot, and I just sit around typing all day, while I listen to music! Who could want a better job while they were in college!? NOT ME!!!
Anyway…speaking of work, I need to go and get dressed, cash a few checks, swing by A’s house, grab some good food, and then head off to work and I only have an hour and a half to do it all in so I better close it down!
Hope you enjoyed…See you soon…
Signed: 2 more days until
AUSTIN!!!
